Join Berkeley Schools Volunteers (BSV), and help give students the personalized attention they need and deserve during distance learning.

BSV is currently recruiting parents, college students, retirees, and working professionals to support “classrooms,” district-wide. Every volunteer is trained to access and navigate BUSD’s online instructional platforms. Volunteers are then paired with a Host Teacher, based on the volunteer’s grade level and subject preferences. Volunteers may support students 1:1 or in small group breakout rooms, while also helping teachers with the everyday operations of the ‘new (Zoom) normal.’

BSV requires a commitment of 1-2 hours a week for the remainder of the school year. While we place volunteers in all grades and subject areas, we are particularly eager to fill the still-open requests on this (Top 10) Urgent Needs list <https://www.berkeleypublicschoolsfund.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Urgent-Needs-List-jan-2021.pdf>.
