Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office, by Felicia Phillips
feliciaphillips at berkeley.net*.* For those of you who do not hear the
announcements where you are during second period, or if you would like to
read them each day, you can find them in the Daily Bulletinsection of
Powerschool.



*Important PE Waiver Information*

Please turn in your completed Spring 2017 PE Waiver (yellow copy) to the
Attendance Office beginning Tuesday, May 16th and no later than Friday, May
26, 2017 by 4:00 pm. The waiver must be signed by the same coach who wrote
your letter early in the fall. No exceptions to this deadline will be
granted.

The Attendance Office will begin distributing Summer 2017 PE Waiver forms
on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The first portion of the waiver process is due
back to the attendance office on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 by 4:00 pm. No
exceptions will be made for missed deadlines.

*African Haitian Dance Spring Concert*

The Berkeley High School African American Studies
Department/African-Haitian Dance Program continues the tradition of its
spring dance concert by presenting “Power equals Achieve” on Friday, May
19, at 7:00 pm in the Berkeley Community Theater. The evening is sure to
delight, surprise and engage the audience with performances of the African
Diaspora, which will include Ibo (Oppression/Struggle) and Mayi/Ze’po’l
(Cleansing/Healing) from Haiti, Capoeira/Maculele and Samba from Brazil,
Trinidad Carnival Dance, Nepalese, Ethiopian dance forms as well as more
contemporary fare of modern, hip hop, fusion, praise dance, and spoken word
of the urban griots/storytellers/rappers. There is something for everyone.
Tickets are available online at Brown Paper Tickets and at the door.
Admission is $5 for students, $8 general admission, and $12 for reserved
seating.

causes you care about!  Come to the BHS Activism Fair on Wednesday, May
24 at lunch, 4th, 5th and 6th period at the M-Gym basketball courts!
Several outside orgs and student clubs will be there to offer opportunities
and inspire you for summer ACTION. *
