CLUBS

 

Are you interested in learning about women's struggles around the world?
Learn about these women's stories at the new club EMPOWER! Based on a
curriculum inspired by the author of the Vagina Monologues - Eve Ensler -
and her newest book I am an Emotional Creature, this club will be creating a
community of girls and guys that work together to fight for women's rights.
Come to the information meeting Monday April 14th at lunch in C127 for more
info! Everyone is welcome.

 

LEADERSHIP

 

The last blood drive this year will be in the Community Theater tomorrow.
Please sign up in the leadership office. Donors must be at least 16 years
old.

 

SENIORS

 

1. Prom is coming up. Nominate your friends for Prom King and Queen.
Nominees must be seniors who have over a 2.5 GPA as of second semester. Pick
up an application in the leadership office. They are due April 15th.

 

This is the very last week Prom Tickets are on sale! Tickets are $90 for
Juniors and Seniors. Buy your tickets on the senior steps at lunch or online
at bhsprom2014.brownpapertickets.com.

 

2. Attention class of 2014, please come to the mandatory senior meeting this
Wednesday April 16 in the Donahue Gym. It will take place during sixth
period. You are required to attend even if you are in independent studies,
do not have a class during sixth, or have an internship that day. Once
again, there is a Senior meeting about the end of the year activities this
Wednesday in the Donahue Gym.

 

JOB OPENING

 

King Middle School's after school English Language Learner Tutorial is
looking for Spanish bilingual and English-only tutors who can work from 3-4
pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and 2:15-3:15 pm on Wednesdays. There
is a great need for seniors with free 6th periods ONLY, who are ESPECIALLY
good in pre-algebra, algebra, general math and other subjects as well. Pay
is $9.00/hour. You must arrive by 3 pm at the latest! Come by the Science
Building Room 7 and speak with Akemi Hamai or Patty Rathwell or call Ms.
Rathwell @ 644-4811.
