This spring, Berkeley High School students have signed up to take literally
thousands of individual Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate
exams between Wednesday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 22. These tests, which are
both generated and graded by outside organizations, are college level
examinations, which can result in college level credit. However, in order
to qualify they must be administered properly and that includes having a
sufficient number of proctors. Offering these demanding classes to our
students is a community effort. Without volunteers (you!) we CANNOT do it.

We are asking all parents or guardians of students taking either an AP or an
IB test(s) to please volunteer to proctor either an AP or IB test(s) other
than ones their own children are taking. Proctoring, as those who have done
it can attest, is not difficult. Each test has a paid administrator.
Volunteer proctors pass out tests, collect tests, issue bathroom passes, and
are on site should we be audited. Students are committed and focused; the
paid administrator will handle any discipline. The commitment is for all
morning or all afternoon roughly 7:45 am to noon and 11:45 am to 4 pm.
Finally, the number of proctors in the APs might increase as I receive
information on the number of extended time students. If a parent ends up
with an extended time slot, please note, only the students' time is
extended, the proctor will be relieved at the end of the morning session or
at the end of the regular test in the afternoon.

Below is the list of AP and IB Proctoring NEEDS. It is not a complete list
of all offered exams-some exams do not need a volunteer proctor-nor are the
times yet exact-I will send exact times in a confirmation email along with
