The Signing Ceremony for three Berkeley High football players took place
Wednesday afternoon in the Berkeley High School Library. Over 100 of the
players' friends, family, coaches and administrators were on hand for the
announcement. Deputy Superintendent Javetta Cleveland was on hand to
congratulate the athletes and their families, and Principal Pasquale Scuderi
spoke about the importance of taking full advantage of this unique
educational opportunity, noting the small number of college athletes who
actually make it to the pros and the much bigger number who do not finish
their college education. With an average of 3.6 GPA, these three athletes
echoed his emphasis on putting their education before their action on the
field.



With about 11 BHS football players anticipating scholarships, three players
had firm offers on Wednesday (National Signing Day): 

Choosing Army West Point: Jalen Rosales (offers: Hawaii and Army); 

Choosing Humboldt State: Jacai Deneveu; 

Choosing Sacramento State: Rashad Albert (Offers: North Dakota St. and Sac.
St.). 

 

The other eight players will be announced once confirmed.
