Berkeley High football players took place Wednesday afternoon in the Berkeley
High School Library. Over 100 of the players’ friends, family, coaches
and administrators were on hand for the announcement. Deputy Superintendent
Javetta Cleveland was on hand to congratulate the athletes and their families,
and Principal Pasquale Scuderi spoke about the importance of taking full
advantage of this unique educational opportunity, noting the small number of
college athletes who actually make it to the pros and the much bigger number
who do not finish their college education. With an average of 3.6 GPA, these
three athletes echoed his emphasis on putting their education before their
action on the field.<br>
