Next week, Feb. 5 and 6, Tuesday and Wednesday, ALL sophomores will
take the California State Exit Exam (CAHSEE). English on one day,
math on the second. Students are asked to report to school at 7:30 in
the morning. Signs and volunteers will direct students to their
proper test taking venue. The Exit Exam is untimed but many students
will finish the exam before lunch. As students complete the exam they
will be given a pass to return to their regular class schedule.

The exam can be stressful and tiring. It is a good idea to pack a
small healthy snack for your child.

Thank you very much to everyone who has already volunteered to help
administer the exam but we still need help:

* checking students in from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m.
* proctoring from 8:30 to noon, and
* organizing the tests from noon to 3 p.m.

Parking passes are available on a first come first served basis for
those who volunteer during the 2nd and 3rd shifts (ample street
parking is available from 7:15 to 8:30.

Volunteers are essential to check students in quickly so they do not
waste precious morning hours, to help maintain a calm and quiet
ambient during the test and to sort and track the masses of paper
generated by this exam.

If you can help you will be very much appreciated! Please contact
