The Oxford after-school program (Berkeley L.E.A.R.N.S.) is looking for
teen volunteers to tutor, assist in teaching enrichment classes, and
read with students in kindergarten-5th grade. Our kids love working
and spending time with our high school volunteers and make it a fun
and rewarding experience for their tutors. 

Our volunteers work directly with the after school teaching staff and
we are all recent college graduates who went to Berkeley High. Our
students need help with homework Monday-Thursday between 3:30 and 5:00
during their academic support hour. 

In addition, volunteers who are interested in gaining experience
working with kids in specialty classes have the opportunity to help
during our enrichment classes between 2:30 and 3:30. We offer classes
in bookmaking, music, cooking, art, science, drama, Spanish, and
Journalism. 

Oxford School is located on Oxford Street in the North Berkeley Hills
and is accessible by bus from downtown Berkeley.
