[BHS etree] ADMIN: BOMB THREAT: LUNCHTIME, 4/7/06

We received a bomb threat during lunch today, 4/7. The caller specified
that it was in the library. We immediately evaluated the entire D Building
(that houses the Library). We instructed teachers to hold their students
in their classrooms in the other buildings while the Berkeley police
searched the area. They advised us that there was no device, and we
returned to the building at approximately 1:15PM. The group of less than
100 individuals we evacuated from the D Building were first moved into the
west side of the courtyard, and then across the street to the park.
Disruption was kept to a minimum and all students attended their fifth and
sixth period classes as normal.

The incident is under investigation, and is being treated seriously by
Berkeley High officials and the Berkeley Police Department.
