<div><b>We received a bomb threat during lunch today, 4/7. The caller
specified<br>
that it was in the library. We immediately evaluated the entire D
Building<br>
(that houses the Library). We instructed teachers to hold their
students<br>
in their classrooms in the other buildings while the Berkeley
police<br>
searched the area. They advised us that there was no device, and
we<br>
returned to the building at approximately 1:15PM. The group of less
than<br>
100 individuals we evacuated from the D Building were first moved into
the<br>
west side of the courtyard, and then across the street to the
park.<br>
Disruption was kept to a minimum and all students attended their fifth
and<br>
sixth period classes as normal.<br>
<br>
The incident is under investigation, and is being treated seriously
by<br>
Berkeley High officials and the Berkeley Police Department.</b></div>
