The clock is ticking...but it is not too late to become a writing
coach for BHS students this Spring.  Get an inside-the-classroom look
at BHS, support teachers, and help students master thinking and
writing skills by becoming a WriterCoach Connection volunteer.  For a
small investment of time, you can enjoy the rewards of being an
academic mentor. "To be able to see kids like these, struggling! with
their circumstances and using writing to explore their feelings and
their options in the world, has been humbling," says one WCC
volunteer coach.  "The glint in the eye when you strike a chord is
worth it all," says another.

The last training for the academic year begins next Tuesday evening.
You don't have to be a writer or teacher.  Register today and learn
strategies to help kids--including your own--gain confidence, improve
skills and complete assignments:

Session C:    Tuesdays    2/21 & 2/28     6:30-9:30 PM

WCC coaches represent diverse ethnicities, ages, and walks of life.
Join a fabulous team of volunteers who work one-on-one with students
in BHS English classes or at the lunchtime Writers Café.  Coaches
commit to a regular, 1 to 2-hour timeslot each week, during the
