STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration

1.	Thank you to all the parent and guardians who came to Back to School 
Night.

2.	JOB OPPORTUNITY: Work in an insurance office.  Requires accurate 
filing, copying, scanning, etc.  Five to ten hours per week.  Pay $9 
per hour.  Contact Cynthia Blumhart at 510-848-2132.

3.	Hey Freshman:   Are you interested in Student Government?  Do you 
want to be the president of your class?  Pick up an application for 
Leadership at the main office and return it by October 7th to the 
Leadership box.

4.	Calling all Homecoming King and Queen Candidates:  You need to sign 
up and start campaigning.  All students who would like to run for 
Homecoming Royalty need to attend a mandatory meeting on Friday, 
September 30th at lunch in conference room A.

Clubs
1.	 Opera Club!  If you are interested in getting incredibly cheap 
($30) tickets to the SF Opera and seeing world class performances, 
check this. We have spaces for you to attend the Italian Girl in 
Algiers by Giachino Rossini on September 30th and Doctor Atomic by John 
Adams on October 5th. See Rick Ayers in C324 for questions.

2.	Today!  Come and fight for your right today!  Snacks will be 
provided.  H105-- Mrs. Z’s room.

3.	Come to another exciting APIC meeting in  G209 during lunch.  See 
you there!

4.	Hey Berkeley High:   Come to the meeting of the most IRIC Club.  
Reggae appreciation Club.  If you love reggae music this is the place 
to be. Fridays at lunch in C126.

5.	Youth for Christ!  Are you a Christian?  Do you want to meet and 
talk with other Christians?  Meet every Friday at lunch in G201.  
That’s Friday in G201 at lunch!!

6.	Do you like camping, backpacking, and being outside?  Do you want to 
plan ad meet other outdoor enthusiasts?  Come to the round campus green 
on Friday at lunch for the first meeting of the BHS Outdoor Club!

7.	Progressive Club is back!  We’ve got lots of politicians to meet.  
Come Friday, September 30th in A105.  Come and fight for your rights.

Sports

Senior / Junior Section
1.	Seniors:  The deadline for SENIOR PORTRAITS is Saturday, October 
8th. ABC Harrell can be contacted at 510-655-2099 to make an 
appointment.  If you don’t meet this deadline you will not be in the 
yearbook.

2.	ESSAY Writing workshop- Sign up in D221.
7:30 am   Wednesday, October 5
7:30 am   Tuesday, October 11
3:30 pm   Tuesday, October 11
More later in the month.

3.	More PSAT information:  If you think your family income qualifies 
you for a fee waiver for the PSAT, please see Ms. Abrams in the 
College/ Career Center for documentation.  Then bring the paperwork to 
the ticket window on Allston Way during lunch or after school to 4 p.m. 
  and for you the test will cost nothing.  The PSAT will be given 
October 15th, Saturday.  Students should report to the garden area 
between the Donahue Gym and the C building at 8:30 a.m.  Bring your 
receipt, your photo ID, a calculator and several number 2 pencils.

4.	Seniors:  Come pick up your SENIOR POLLS in  H102 during 7th period 
only between Oct 3-7.  You must have an ID to pick up and turn in your 
poll sheet.

5.	Seniors: Please bring your baby pictures and summer weekend pictures 
to the yearbook office in H102. Bring pictures in a self addressed and 
stamped envelope.

6.	Seniors: College Representative visits are starting.  The complete 
September lists are available in D221.

Events/ Performance
1.	Ladies, would you like to perform in the 2006 Vagina Monologues?  Do 
you not want to perform, but would like to join the V-team, 
coordinating bake sales and events?  Come to the informational meeting 
Monday, October 3rd in Mr. Winer’s room, A203.  Find out about 
important dates and auditions.

2.	Celebrate your freedom to read!  Visit the Berkeley High Library 
this week during Banned Books Week.  Look at the display of challenged 
books and guess why someone tried to ban these titles.  Free people 
read freely!

SALES
1.	Today is the last day to place an order for Bart tickets.

2.	BHS Yearbooks go on sale October 3rd after school and at lunch in 
H102. They will be sold from October 3- 14th.  The price of the book 
will be $65.  Cash, Checks and money orders.  Please make checks and 
money orders payable to Berkeley High Yearbook.
