A proposal to take steps towards lowering the voting age in Berkeley,
written by the Berkeley High Progressive Club, is appearing on the May
24th Berkeley City Council meeting agenda. If it passes, it will
bring Berkeley one step closer to becoming the first city in America
with a voting age of 16! This is a tremendous step for youth rights.
If you wish to speak in support of this proposal, you should be at Old
City Hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24th. For an informational
meeting, you can go to Room H208 on Thursday at lunch. Also, see the
front page of the Berkeley Voice on Friday. For more info, visit
www.berkeley.youthrights.org or contact Robert Reynolds at
rreynolds at youthrights.org or 548-3322.
