Notes from the Video Department/special film festival update:
1.  Check out the Mill Valley Film Festival this weekend!  Berkeley High
School video students represent a good number of the young filmmakers: Ali
Geering-Kline, Nikki Sonfield, Ben Kleiman, Sam Alcabes, Sam Fuller and
Warren Yu.  Please come out and support our students!

"With a whopping 119 entries, our 2004 peer jury of youth have come up
with an eclectic program of 15 shorts from all over the country, many
focused on the San Francisco Bay Area. Included are: Michael Patton's
Life, by M. Patten; California Education Budget Crisis by P. Nissim; The
Fair Share by C. Janusch; It Takes a Village by J. Shapiro; The
Telemarketer by B. Kleiman and S. Alcabes; Aisle 7 by S. Fuller; Ghosty
Ghosty by A. Geering-Kline, N. Sonfield; PSA by W. Yu; I'm an Asian
American by N. Chim; A Song for Our Lady by A. Wesman; Untitled by S.
Cortes; Urban Frankenstein and Bloodlust by G. S. Rosenthal; Barbie by L.
Ripley."

2.  Two  BHS students are also represented in the Orinda Film Festival
this weekend: Sam Fuller and Daniel Sanchez.

3.  Special congratulations to BHS students Mischa Minkler and Molly
Solomon for getting accepted to the Tower of Youth Film Festival in
Sacramento earlier this month.  Their short, along with a piece from Ben
Kleiman and Sam Alcabes from BHS, was screened during the highly
competitive program.


4.  If you would like to attend the Berkeley Film and Video Festival this
weekend, please see Ms. Rasiah in G108B for free tickets.
