To our members,

We would like to notify you of an upcoming change to your phone service
in the East Bay. In January of 2017, the California Public Utilities
Commission <https://www.cpuc.ca.gov/General.aspx?id=6442451025> approved
an area code overlay for the Easy Bay. Soon, all new numbers in the
current 510 area code region will be assigned the area code 341. This
will not change any existing 510 phone numbers, but this implementation
may lead to changes in the way you use your phone.

Currently, if you dial a number without an area code, it will default to
the 510 area code. Beginning on June 22nd, that will no longer work and
for ALL calls, you will need to specify the area code (even if it's a
510 area code). If you do not include the area code, your call will be
answered with a recording indicating that you must now include the area
code for all calls..

For reference, the 510 area code serves the following cities: Alameda,
Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Newark, Oakland,
Piedmont, San Leandro and Union City in Alameda County; and the cities
of El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole, Richmond, and San Pablo in Contra Costa
County.

Beginning on July 22nd, all new numbers in these areas will be assigned
the 341 area code rather than the 510 area code. If you have any
questions about these changes, please let us know.

We also would like to take this opportunity to let our customers know
that we've revamped our Always On
WiFi <https://www.lmi.net/services/always-on-wifi> service. This is our
managed WiFi mesh system which is professionally installed and supported
by LMi tech support. This service is beneficial if you're having issues
with WiFi coverage in your home, are looking to expand coverage to
another unit, or simply want the fastest speeds over WiFi possible. If
you're interested in our comprehensive WiFi package, let us know via our
website, by email, or giving us a call, and we'll answer any questions
you may have and schedule and on-site installation.

Lastly, we'd like to ask a favor of our members in showing support for
your local, home grown ISP. We'd greatly appreciate any comments or
reviews on our Yelp
page <https://www.yelp.com/biz/lmi-net-lanminds-berkeley-2> and/or our
