Dear Members -

We hope that you will join us for the first "Arts in the Afternoon" of the
season this coming Tuesday, September 27th, 4:00 p.m.

There has been a change to the initial program and we will now welcome a
Piano and String Trio performing works of Claude Debussy and Benjamin
Britten.  This should be a delightful concert and, as always, there will
be a chance to speak with the performers at the reception following.

Be sure to mark your calendars for our first "Academic Lives" on Thursday,
October 6, 2011, 4:00 p.m. which  features Professor Christina Romer.  In
a talk aptly titled "A Tale of Two Cities" Romer will discuss her
experiences as both an academic and a public servant in Berkeley and
Washington D.C.

Don't forget to place your orders for this week's "Dinner-To-Go." The
entree is Duck Confit-leg of duck prepared in a traditional French style
cured with salt, poached and oven-crisped; served with French lentils and
heirloom tomato salad, $12.45. The vegetarian option is Braised Cabbage,
Peppers, Squash and Leeks-served with French lentils & heirloom tomato
salad, $9.75. Please call for the soup and dessert option. Feel free to
call, email or fax your orders in.
