*Freedom! The Story of the Black Panther Party* (2022) is an intimate
portrait full of dialogue, photographs, and vivid storytelling. Students
reading the book say it reads like a movie, appreciate how women are
centered, and relate to the struggle deeply. As an adult reader, I was
thoroughly engaged and moved to tears by the gripping accounts.


*Please help us spread love for this book *that was written by a BHS Alum
(2001) and her professor father. Jetta Grace Martin is a dancer, performer
and choreographer, and a recipient of the Cornel West Prize and the Kathryn
Ann Huggins Prize. Dr. Waldo E. Martin, is a professor of history at UC
Berkeley focusing on African American intellectual and cultural history.


*Both Martins are visiting our school on Tuesday to speak with students.*
Help us show appreciation for their time by purchasing a copy of the book
in support of local authors and local stories.


During the month of February Mrs. Dalloway's is offering a 15% discount on
