Dear BHS Community,

Please do not reply to this message. If you have questions, contact BHS
Principal Juan Raygoza at juanraygoza at berkeley.net.

Working with our Public Health partners at the City of Berkeley and in
alignment with K-12 COVID-19 guidance from the California Department of
Public Health (CDPH) we are notifying you of high COVID-19 case rates in
our school community. Given these high case rates, please consider it
possible that your student has been exposed to a COVID-19 case at school
this week.

During periods of higher case rates, the district does not make individual
parent/caregiver close contact notifications. Instead, the district uses
this notification to encourage parents/caregivers to exercise caution and
to do the following:

   -

   Test their students frequently for COVID-19
   -

   Screen for symptoms
   <https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html>
   before school
   -

   Keep any student with symptoms home and follow return-to-school
   protocols in the BUSD COVID-19 Safety Plan
   <https://www.berkeleyschools.net/covid/campus-safety/>
   -

   Report positive student cases using this Google form
   <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScyK1cIT4ARrqCHVTCz-YfjmmfxkQksnQ_vSqG8TXnEn6Q6bA/viewform?usp=sf_link>
   or email covidcase at berkeley.net
   -

   Encourage indoor masking at school

Please encourage your student to take home the over-the-counter COVID-19
tests available to them at school. The district is also offering free
COVID-19 testing for students and staff on Mondays-Fridays from 10:30 am to
6:30 pm at the Curtis St. Entrance to Berkeley Adult School. Berkeley
Adult School testing is not available on school holidays.

Most BHS students and staff are already registered in Primary Health for
BUSD’s free COVID-19 testing available at Berkeley Adult School. If your
student is not registered for BUSD testing through Primary Health and you
want to test at Berkeley Adult School, please register them here
<https://my.primary.health/l/berkeley_usd>. This is one-time registration
only. It is not necessary to register for each test date.

We will inform the community when we determine we have the capability to go
back to individual close contact notifications for students.

Please refer to the COVID Case Dashboard
<https://www.berkeleyschools.net/coronavirus/case-dashboard/>to see case
numbers on a daily basis.

Thank you.

<https://www.berkeleyschools.net/covid/campus-safety/>

● Reporte casos positivos de estudiantes utilizando este
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScyK1cIT4ARrqCHVTCz-YfjmmfxkQksnQ_vSqG8TXnEn6Q6bA/viewform?usp=sf_link>formularia
de Google
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfiMGCoxBKii6ncRnf43nylJvb8hMhCKiCUtZp-vYMIYaGqGQ/viewform?usp=sf_link>
o envíe un correo electrónico a covidcase at berkeley.net

Gracias.
