Hello BHS Students and Families,

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has provided BUSD with
free iHealth at-home COVID-19 tests for all BUSD students from preschool
through high school. BUSD staff are also receiving tests.

At BHS, we received 3,400 tests and they will be distributed to students
this week as part of the district’s winter break COVID-19 safety protocol.

*What To Do*

Your student will receive a box with two tests this week. The first test
should be taken by your student 3 days before returning to school (on
Friday, December 31) and the second test one day before returning to school
(on Sunday, January 2). Parents/guardians should administer these tests.
Later this week, the district will provide detailed instructions in the
event of a positive test result.

Written instructions for taking the test are inside of the box.
Instructions are currently available in English. We are working to source
Spanish-language instructions and expect to share these later this week as
well.

While your student is not required to take home a test box, we encourage
all families to do so and to follow the instructions that will be provided.
As COVID-19 case rates climb, these at-home rapid tests will help to stop
the spread of COVID-19 in our schools in 2022.

Thank you.

Gracias.
