Dear Berkeley High Families,



We are all missing sports right now!  Many athletes accustomed to rigorous
practice schedules and fierce competition are finding this time
unsettling.  To help our student athletes through this time, Berkeley
Athletic Fund (BAF) has arranged for virtual Sports Psychology workshops
for all BHS athletes.  Time away from normal sporting environments is a
unique opportunity to work on skills that may not typically receive as much
attention. These informative and interactive online workshops present a
chance for athletes to practice sports psychology and mental training so
they can return to play with an enhanced skill set.



In order to reach as many student athletes as possible, BAF is covering all
expenses for this workshop series.  Athletes only need to sign up here BHS

Tax-deductible donations to BAF to offset the $30/student cost of this
program will be gladly accepted here:

*About the presenter:*

Animo Performance Coach Juliano "Nano" Pereira is an elite level soccer
player and coach from the Bay Area completing his master's degree in Sport
& Exercise Psychology from the University of Thessaly in Greece. Coach Nano
has worked as an athlete and coach at all levels of sport across the full
range of age groups, genders, and skill levels, including high
school, college, and professional playing and coaching in the US and
abroad. Nano is passionate about helping athletes and coaches maximize
performance and enjoyment in their sport, particularly through
psychological skills training. He founded Animo Performance in 2019 to help
athletes and coaches improve their mental game. Now, Nano is writing his
thesis about how athletes use music to regulate emotions as the final step
of his master's degree. He is also coaching club soccer, teaching
workshops, and working with clients virtually during COVID-19 social
distancing.
