*Seniors: Reminders of two grants to apply for:*


*1. First Step Award from the BHS Development Group:  Due 5/6/20 or later,
if necessary, if your SIR was extended to 6/1/20.*

Due 5/6/20 by 3pm or extended deadline if your college SIR was extended to
6/1/20. Contact a counselor or Mary Jacobs if you need more time or help
with application or deposit.


If you have an EFC of $0-$1,000 and you are going to a 4 year college (or
For Dream Act- community college), complete the form for the First Step
Award.


You may receive a small monetary grant from the BHS Development Group to
help pay for deposits with Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), housing,
orientation, travel to school, or books.


Reminder:  If you received a UC or CSU application fee waiver, the SIR
deposit will also be waived- no deposit when you accept/enroll at your
final choice of college.

*2. Shelley Bergum Higher Education Award:  Deadline Extended to 5/8/20 by
5:00pm*

For BHS Seniors with a disability (IEP or 504), minimum 3.0 GPA, and
planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college.


*Completed applications* (not including the LoR) must be emailed by the
student to scholarships at eastbaycf.org <scholarships at eastbaycf.org?subject=>.


Recommenders must email their *recommendations* to
scholarships at eastbaycf.org <scholarships at eastbaycf.org?subject=> and they *must
be submitted separately from the applications*.
