SPORTS REPORT
Tuesday was a great day to be a Jacket. Girls tennis remains undefeated and in first place in league with a win at San Leandro. 
Boys and Girls Water Polo also travelled to San Leandro and left with the win. 
Volleyball hosted a very tough Castro Valley team last night and won in 4 sets. Congratulations!
Cross Country travels to Hayward today
Field Hockey travels to Marin Catholic on Thursday
Tomorrow Volleyball hosts Piedmont. Let’s pack the house for this one!
Come to this Friday’s home football game vs. Encinal to celebrate Senior night!
 
Important PSAT Information: Students who are registered for the PSAT on Oct. 19 at Berkeley High must report to the campus green at 8 a.m. Room assignments, alphabetical by last name, will be posted on the doors to the C building. Those with College Board approved accommodations should look for rooms with Extended Time.
Bring a photo ID and your receipt. For test you will need several number 2 pencils with soft erasers, an acceptable calculator for the Math test and extra batteries or a backup calculator just in case which will be kept under your desk until needed.

You may bring a small snack and drink to consume in the hallway during the scheduled break. Do not bring cell phones, smart watches or wearable technology. If you do bring them, you will have to store them away from you during testing. Do not bring separate timers, cameras, highlighters, dictionaries or other books or colored pens and pencils. Mechanical pencils are also prohibited.
If you did not pick up a student guide with practice test and scholarship information, it is available in C106. Pick it up at lunch or after school.
 
Staff and Teacher Walk-in: On Friday morning before school, Berkeley high classified staff and teachers will hold a walk-in before school. Both groups are fighting for a fair contract and will be demonstrating in front of the A gate. Students and families are welcome to join them at 7:45. First period will start on time. Ask any teacher or staff member for more information. They are fighting for the best education for their students. Join them! 
 
The Bay Area Clean-Up Crew is having their first outing of the year this Saturday! Work includes weeding, clearing, and cleaning Strawberry Creek on the UC Berkeley campus. Please contact Ella Du (spelled d-u) at elladu at students.berkeley.net <mailto:elladu at students.berkeley.net> for more information on how to participate. 
 
The Berkeley High Meditation Group will be starting this week. Come by H106 at lunch on Thursdays to be lead through a meditation and learn about mindfulness.  The club is open to everyone, we’d love to see you there!”

Seniors, Come to Cash4College this Thursday (October 17th) at 6:30PM in the CCC to complete the FAFSA financial aid application for college. A checklist of required items will be in your e-mails this week.
Cash for College/FAFSA/Dream Act Application Hands On Workshop- Bring relevant information in the attached worksheet to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  or Dream Act. Get help from BHS counselors and East Bay Consortium staff.   6:30 PM-8:30 PM (doors open @ 6 pm)
