Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, the AP Program is introducing new
resources and processes designated to help students earn college credit and
placement.

Please note, this is not a new Berkeley High policy but a completely new
way that College Board is managing AP courses and test sign ups this year.

*Here’s what you and your student need to know:*

*Students in AP classes must register with College Board if not already
registered.* In the past, students registered in early Spring; however,
the College Board has shifted exam registration to the Fall. AP Exams will
continue to be given in May.

*At Berkeley High School, the process will be:*

   - Students sign into (or create a new account if not already created)
   College Board at www.collegeboard.org.
   - Students join their AP teachers classroom using a code and are
automatically signed up for the test. If students will not take the exam,
they must notify their classroom teacher by November 15.
   - Beginning October 7th -November 15th students will pay for their AP
exams through Total Registration at www.TotalRegistration.net
   <http://www.totalregistration.net/> without a late fee.
   - *Please note: Late fees will be charged after November 15th, however
the system is open until December 15th. *

*In April 2020, students will receive information about their specific
exams.*

*The exam fees are: *

   - *On-time order:* Exam ordered by November 15: $110
   - *Late Order:* Exam Ordered Between November 16 and March 13: $150
   ($110 + $40 late fee)
   - *Cancelled/unused exam: *Exams cancelled after Nov 15 or not taken by
   the student: $40 fee

*Free and reduced lunch exam fees: *Please take approval letter to Benette
Williams in Room C106*

   - *Free and reduced lunch On-time order: *Exam ordered by November 15*:*
   $20 fee
   - *Free and reduced lunch* *Cancelled/unused exam:* Exams cancelled
after Nov 15 or not taken by the student: $20 fee

Through their College Board accounts, students will get personalized
feedback through the new digital tools that provide daily support for every
AP classroom. Their teachers will be able to track their performance
throughout the year using monthly personal progress checks.
