Hi Berkeley High families-

Our next BOLD meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 11th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in Room D219, upstairs across from the CCC. (Note the room change).

Our presenter will be Rebecca Fields, College Advising Consultant who will present Six Tips for Post High School Success.

In her presentation, Rebecca will share thoughts and information about how to prepare for life after high school. Suggestions will include information for students planning to attend 2 and 4-year colleges as well as information for students looking into certificate, gap year, or vocational tracks.

Rebecca Field is the founder and director of Rebecca Field Consulting. Additionally, she is the college advisor consultant at Bayhill High School in Berkeley, CA and Sterne High School in San Francisco. Rebecca’s work focuses on helping students with learning differences find an appropriate college match and then staying in college successfully. She works with high school students and their families as they begin the college admissions process and as a College Success and Retention Coach with students enrolled in two or four-year college programs.

Please join us!

Below is the planned BOLD calendar for the remainder of this school year.

Student panel

BHS Alums

The last BOLD meeting of the year in May is usually when we have a student panel present to the group. This has included BHS alumni and current seniors with learning challenges who talk about what their experience at BHS and life post-BHS have been like. If you know of any alumni or current seniors that would like to participate we would love to hear from them. The meeting is scheduled for May 13. Please have them contact BOLD directly.

Lastly, but VERY IMPORTANTY! Don't let BOLD die.
We are still looking for a couple, or 3, good people to take over coordinating BOLD starting next September. The current coordinators will be "graduating" at the end of this school year. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the Special Ed community and to keep an invaluable parent resource going. Please send us an email if you are interested in knowing more. It is not a big time commitment and you will be part of helping many parents & families navigate BHS and the world of special ed to get the services they need. Please help to ensure this continues.

Thanks!
