The Berkeley Unified School District Board of Education invites you to assist with their search for the District’s next Superintendent of Schools.

The District will host a Community Forum in English on March 7 and one in Spanish on March 8. Both are open to all the public. The forum is an opportunity for the public to provide input and to hear more about the search process.

Community Forum in English  (Interpretation into Spanish will be available at this forum).

Thursday, March 7 at 7:00 pm at School Board Room, 1231 Addison St.


Foro Comunitario (meeting in Spanish)

Friday, March 8 at 7:00 pm at Rosa Parks Elementary School, 920 Allston Way.


At the meetings, consultants will ask for input about our district’s strengths and challenges, and the desired qualities and characteristics of the next Superintendent. This input will be a valuable contribution to the recruitment and selection process.

The consultants will be soliciting responses to the following questions:

§  What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the Berkeley Unified School District?

§  What are the strengths of the District, and what are the challenges you see for the District in the coming years?


Additionally, an online survey is available on the District’s website until 5:00 pm on Monday, March 11.  You may access the survey by clicking here <https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HWBHJ3G>

La Mesa Directiva de Educación (School Board) de Berkeley Unified School District le invita a que usted sea parte del proceso de ayudar con la búsqueda del próximo Superintendente del Distrito Escolar.

El distrito ofrecerá un foro en español el viernes, 8 de marzo, en la escuela Rosa Parks, 920 Allston Way, a las 7 de la tarde. No se necesita cita para participar. Este Foro Comunitario está abierto a todo el público y es una oportunidad para expresar su opinión y aprender más sobre el proceso de búsqueda. Se ofrecerá cuidado para niños.

Además, se ofrecerá otro foro en inglés, con interpretación en español, el jueves, 7 de marzo, a las 7:00 de la tarde en 1231 Addison Street (BUSD Board Room).

Durante los foros, los asesores de la firma Leadership Associates desean recibir sus comentarios referentes a las cualidades y características que usted desearía en el próximo Superintendente. Su presencia y sugerencias serán una valiosa contribución para el proceso de reclutamiento y para la selección.

Los asesores solicitarán respuestas y opiniones para las siguientes preguntas:

§  ¿Qué cualidades personales y profesionales serían la justa combinación en un nuevo superintendente para el Distrito Escolar de Berkeley?
