Helpful tip regarding college applications
Please remind students to work on response-style questions in their college applications or Naviance survey on a separate Google Doc. There have been reported instances of students keeping the page open too long and losing work completely. Thank you!

Currently empty but will be updated in the next week. Will also be on BHS CCC website.

United Negro College Fund HBCU/Scholarship Registration Day

What: Register with the United Negro College Fund

When: Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Join us at Period 2- 3: 9:31-11:38 am or Period 4-5: 12:24-2:26 pm or 6th pd. 2:32-3:30 pm

Where: Berkeley High School Library Computer Lab

How:    1. RSVP with Mary Jacobs at maryjacobs at berkeley.net<mailto:maryjacobs at berkeley.net> tell me which period

2. Ask teacher in period 2-3, or 4-5, or 6th for permission to attend.

3. Sign in on registration day to clear the absence with the attendance office.

Recommendations
Students requiring teacher letters of rec must:
1. Match Common App with Naviance<https://vimeo.com/102639828>
2. Get verbal approval from teacher(s)
3. Request the letter of rec on Naviance
4. Follow up with teacher regarding deadlines
5. Thank teacher(s) for their time and energy

Students wishing to send outside letter of recs (coaches, mentors, etc.):
1. Request rec from Common App as "Other Recommender"
2. Input the correct e-mail for the recommender
3. Follow up with deadlines
4. Thanks

Students needing counselor recommendations:
1. Update "Colleges I'm Applying to" list to reflect accurately
2. Submit requests for transcripts, etc.
3. If you want to request a counselor letter of rec you must do so offline, by asking your counselor.

Students who have transferred to BHS and wish for teachers from a different school to write letters of rec should reach out to Mr. An (davidan at berkeley.net<mailto:davidan at berkeley.net>) for an alternative method of uploading letters.
