Additional Dates for Yearbook Pickup

Students who have purchased yearbooks, but have not yet picked them up, can pick them up on Thursday, June 7, in the lobby of the Community Theater. Be sure to have your BHS student ID with you. Please Email Ms. Youngblood, at candissyoungblood at berkeley.net if you have any questions.

Locker Clean Out

It’s that time of year: time to say goodbye to one year of high school and clean out lockers. Boxes will be set up in the C gallery beginning Monday, June 4, to place binders, notebooks, stationery, and other school supplies that can be reused for next year. Reuse and recycle what you do not want. Do not throw your papers up in the air. Respect our hard-working custodians who work hard to keep Berkeley High clean.

Election Day – June 5

This is a reminder for all registered voters, both students and staff, that the state primary election is Tuesday, June 5. Polls will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm. We encourage everyone to take the time to review information about candidates and ballot measures before voting. For more information, registered voters in Alameda County can visit acvote.org<https://www.acvote.org/index>.

Spring Carnival

Tomorrow is the big day! The first annual Spring Carnival<http://berkeleyschools.net/leadership/?p=1224> is tomorrow afternoon from 2:30 until 4:30. Here are some important things you need to know:

There will be a special bell schedule<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ChDL9rfDLTiG0ELtT7XiKfr-HtW8gK25RFY1OXKyc2c/edit>. Each period will be 48 minutes instead of 58 minutes. Lunch begins at 11:03, which is early for downtown Berkeley restaurants, so if you normally eat off campus, please be patient with them as they prepare for an early lunch.

Students must attend their 6th period class in order to attend the carnival. Seniors with no 6th period should report to the Leadership Office after 5th period to receive the information they need in order to enter the carnival

Students will not be able to bring bags to the carnival, so be sure to leave your bags in your locker before the carnival begins. If you do end up bringing a bag, you will have to check it in the M Gym before entering the carnival area.

There will be inflatable slides and obstacle courses at the Carnival, so if you want to enjoy them, be sure to wear shoes on Friday that you can remove and leave in a common area while you are enjoying the fun.

School rules still apply for the entire duration of the carnival. Any cases of illegal substance use (such as alcohol or vaping), class taunting/bullying/harassment, etc. will be subject to the consequences as outlined in the BHS Student Handbook, and students involved in these activities will be asked to leave.

Positive Shout Outs

Because of the Carnival, Ms. Schweng will not read the morning announcements tomorrow, but she will share a few positive shout outs, so check your student Email later today for a link that you can use to recognize individuals or groups for their positive contributions to our campus.
