*Academic Achievement Awards*
Today during 3rd period in the Little Theater, 40 students and a dozen
staff members from all learning communities at BHS, ISP and BTA will be
recognized with achievement awards based on nominations submitted by
teachers. Congratulations to all recipients!
*Talent Show*
Come and support your talented student body tomorrow night at *Berkeley
High’s Got Talent*! The show begins at 7:00 pm in the Little theater, and
tickets are $5 at the door. There are more than 15 acts scheduled to
perform, and there will even be an opportunity for some audience
participation on the stage. So join us tomorrow night for the talent show.
*ASB Elections Happen Next Week*
Next Tuesday and Wednesday, students will participate in elections for ASB
student leaders for 2018-2019. Be sure to check your Berkeley.net Email
inbox for an Election Handbook, which includes information about all of the
candidates who are running for office. We want you to make informed
decisions as you vote. If you have questions about the election, please see
Mr. V. in the Leadership Office.
*Morning Sports Report*
Today the boys volleyball team travels to Alameda to play Encinal, and the
boys tennis team plays on the road against Piedmont (weather permitting).
Tomorrow the swim team hosts Alameda in the Jacket Pool, the JV baseball
team hosts San Lorenzo at Moellering Field, the girls lacrosse teams host
Washington High at Jacket Stadium, and the boys varsity baseball team and
boys lacrosse teams play on the road against San Lorenzo and Washington,
respectively.
*Tomorrow: Lunchtime Events in the Courtyard*
Fellow Yellow Jackets: Tomorrow there will be two awesome events in the
courtyard! BHS alum Juwan Rohan will perform his latest tracks, and at the
same time, students running for ASB elected positions will answer your
questions about their campaigns. Music and elections, together, at lunch in
the courtyard tomorrow.
*College & Career Week Reminders*
Today is College Gear Day! Thanks to everyone for wearing their favorite
college sweatshirt or T-shirt. There are still several career workshops you
can sign up for, including: Instrument Control & Technology (today during
3rd period), Public Service & Firefighting (today during 3rd period),
Computer Engineering & Coding (today during 5th period), and Berkeley
Police Department (today during 5th period).
*Positive Shout Out*
Positive shout outs will happen tomorrow. Be sure to check your Email later
today for a message from Principal Schweng that will include a link you can
use to recognize an individual or a group on campus whose actions reflect
the great things that are happening to build a positive school culture here
at Berkeley High.
