Our next BOLD meeting will be Monday, March12 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the CCC.

Please come join us for a conversation with Berkeley School Board member Beatriz Leyva-Cutler.

About the speaker:
Beatriz Leyva-Cutler has been a member of the Berkeley School Board since December 2008. She is currently the Board Clerk and is in the middle of her 3rd term. Beatriz is also the Executive Director of BAHIA Inc., which provides bilingual care to children ages 2-10 in Berkeley. She has been an employee with BAHIA for 37 years. Additionally Beatriz sits on the following board committees: Policy, DELAC, Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta Committee and SARB. She is co-founder of 2020 Vision and a Co-Chair of the Chicana Latina Foundation which provides scholarships to Chicana/Latinas in the Bay Area. She is a constant advocate for bilingual education and youth development.

BOLD (Berkeley High Families Owning Learning Differences) is a support group for parents of children with Learning Differences. This group, formed in 2013 by Berkeley High parents, meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at Berkeley High in the College and Career Center. BOLD is dedicated to finding ways to support, empower and educate students with learning disabilities and their families by fostering understanding and advocating for effective intervention.
