Good Evening BHS Families:

Schools in the Berkeley Unified School District will be open on Friday, October 13; please click <http://www.berkeleyschools.net/berkeley-public-schools-will-be-open-friday-oct-13/> here<http://www.berkeleyschools.net/berkeley-public-schools-will-be-open-friday-oct-13/> for the official announcement from BUSD.

However, we are postponing the Show of Unity until Thursday, October 19. The modified bell schedule will be in effect on that day.

Berkeley High School will operate on a normal bell schedule on Friday, October 13.

While students and staff have planned an exciting assembly to launch Unity Week, we acknowledge that many in our community are currently experiencing health-related challenges because of air quality. We are also concerned about the impact of the outside air that would enter, and remain in, the Berkeley Community Theater as more than two thousand people go through open doors into the assembly. As a result, we believe that it is more appropriate to reschedule the assembly for next week, when local air quality conditions should be more favorable.
