The Black Recruitment and Retention Center at UC Berkeley is a student-run
organization, founded in 1983, that focuses on encouraging the pursuit of
higher education among African American students. It is funded through the
University of California, Berkeley and reaches out to hundreds of high
schools, community colleges, and middle schools throughout California. This
year’s annual Bay Area College Tour is a program designed for Black
*sophomores* and *juniors* (10th-11th grades) in high school, to tour the
different educational institutions in the Northern California Region.



This year, students will spend time touring 5 Bay Area universities: UC
Berkeley, Stanford, San Jose State, Menlo College and St. Mary's
University. At each university, students will tour the campus, attend
admission workshops and financial aid workshops, receive more information
about that specific campus and higher education in general, have the
opportunity to network, and much more.



If accepted, this is an all-expense paid,* FREE* program, and students will
be provided with hotel accommodations, food, and transportation to/from all
universities.



This year's BACT will be from* November 16th - 19th, 2017. *
