CCC Announcements for Seniors
Seniors: listen up to these important announcements from the College & Career Center:
- The first college visit of the year happens today! A representative from Kenyon College will be on campus today during 4th period to meet with interested students, and tomorrow during 1st period, you can meet with a representative from the University of Denver. You must have a College Advisor's pass signed by your teacher in order to attend.
-There will be a College Application Information Night for Parents on Tuesday, September 12th in the Library at 6:30pm.
- Senior Profiles are due Thursday, September 14th.
- Please check your student emails for additional deadlines and reminders for the college application process.
After School Tutoring Begins Today
And now here's a word from Mr. Laurel....The College and Career Center (CCC) will be open today after school with tutors and volunteers for all content areas, college personal statement readers, as well as computer and printer access. We are located across from library on the second floor of the D-Building. This comfortable, safe, and productive learning space welcomes ALL students from ALL SLCs and ALL grade levels. Our hours of operation are 3:30-6:00, Monday-Thursday.
Jacket Newspaper Is Looking for 9th Graders
Attention Freshmen! Join the Jacket newspaper! We are currently looking to hire writers, photographers, and illustrators. Applications for all positions can be found on

BART Tickets for Students
Discounted BART tickets will be sold this week in the Parent Resource Center. The price for a BART orange ticket is $16, but the ticket will have $32 in value. Students can purchase up to 4 tickets each month. Come to the Parent Resource Center, room D-224 on Wednesday, September 6, and Thursday, September 7, during lunchtime to place your order for discounted BART tickets. Cash only - no checks accepted. Tickets will arrive within 8-14 days.
Morning Sports Report
Are you interested in sailing? Join the BHS sailing team. The team travels up and down the California coast, competing in various races with over 30 other teams in the state. They practice a few times a week out of the Richmond Yacht Club, and joining the team makes you P.E. waiver eligible. No prior experience is necessary. This year's season will run from mid-September until late April. Interested in rowing for Berkeley High? Come learn about this fun and challenging sport at the Novice Crew Meeting on Wednesday, September 6 th from 4:00 - 4:30 PM at the Jacket Stadium bleachers.
Athletic Packets: Wednesday, September 6 is also the final day to clear your athletic packets after school on the 2nd floor of the J Building.
