This Week's Shout Outs
We want to shout out BIHS senior Xinavane Foreman for being named one of the Bay Area News Group's East Bay Athletes of the Week! Xina, who is headed to Cal State Fullerton on a basketball scholarship, was recognized for her performance in two recent games.
Our next shout out goes to AMPS senior Chaltu Rashid and BIHS senior Jada Carter for being honored with the Next Generation Award at Berkeley's 6th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast on Jan. 16. Chaltu and Jada were recognized for representing the ideals of Dr. King through their individual contributions to their school communities, and for their shared commitment to bringing about positive change.
Our final shout out is to our School Resource Officer, Detective Matt McGee, for being recognized by the Berkeley Police Association at its annual dinner for his role in developing the new Law and Social Justice course here at BHS.
