To my inspiring family and friends,

February is coming up, which means that it is The Vagina Monologues season! Although the production is called the "Vagina Monologues," at BHS, we choose to incorporate pieces from Eve Ensler's other play, "I am an Emotional Creature," which explores the stories of teenage girls specifically.

With these two pieces, the play consists of a series of monologues about girls and women's experiences, ranging from identity and sexuality to body image all the way to rape and violence against women. I do not think that there is a more appropriate time to be uplifting strong female voices and supporting the message that this show encourages. Women got the power. Our cast has been working so hard in the last few months to use this show as our tool of resistance and social activism.

So... get your women's march energy on and come to this year's production of The Vagina Monologues! The shows are February 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th at 7 pm at the Florence Schwimley Little Theater at Berkeley High School. Tickets are $10-12 sliding scale and all the proceeds go to organizations fighting to end violence against women and girls.

I would love to see you all there. If you can't make it, share the event on social media and maybe invite some friends! Either way, I hope to see you all soon.
