*Dead Week and Final Exams*
Today is the first day of Dead Week, a time for study and preparation
for next week's Semester 1 finals. There are no field trips scheduled,
and there are only a few exceptions to quiet study this week. Please
contribute to this vibe so that you and your peers can do your best on
final exams, projects and presentations.

Remember: The College and Career Center is open Monday - Thursday from
3:30 - 6:00 PM for drop-in tutorial assistance, teacher-led after school
tutorials are available in almost every academic subject, and student
athletes can come to room J-205 after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays to finish homework before practice and get additional help in
all subjects.

*Morning Sports Report*
Here's a summary of weekend sports results:

The boys varsity basketball team lost to San Leandro High. The girls
varsity and JV basketball teams crushed Alameda, but the girls varsity
team lost to Stockton's Brookside Christian in tournament play.

In boys soccer, the varsity team outscored Arroyo but Arroyo beat the JV
squad. The girls varsity soccer team also beat Arroyo, and the girls
freshman soccer team improved its record to 15-0 with victories over
Bishop O'Dowd, College Park and Monte Vista.

If you don't hear a score, it's because the score has not yet been
submitted. There are no scheduled games today.

*REMINDER: Hall Pass Policy*
As previously announced, the administrative and safety teams are
increasing enforcement of the existing hall pass policy. All students
who are out of class during instructional time must have a valid pass
from an adult. Students who are out of class without a hall pass will be
escorted back to class by an administrator and/or safety staff member
AND will earn a lunch detention that will be served on campus in the
cafeteria.

Students who fail to report for lunch detention or who repeatedly cut
class may receive additional lunch detentions, loss of other privileges,
a mandatory parent meeting, and possible further consequences. Students
who improve their attendance will receive positive recognition.
Remember: when you miss class, you miss out on opportunities to learn,
so make sure you're in class on time and at all times, ready to learn!

*Entering & Leaving Campus During Instructional Time*
Effective today, during instructional time, all students should enter
and exit via the ‘A Gate’ on Allston Way. The other entrances at
Kittredge near the Attendance Office, Bancroft near the M building, and
Martin Luther King where the G & H buildings meet will only be open
before school, at lunch, and at dismissal. At all other times, the other
entrances will be CLOSED. We thank you for your cooperation as we work
to improve campus safety by minimizing points of entry and exit during
instructional time.

*Support the Women's Marches*
Do you want to stand up for women's rights and be an ally? If so, come
to the C-Gallery at lunch today to help make posters and banners for the
upcoming marches in both Oakland and Washington DC. All materials will
be provided. Stop by and sign your name or write a positive message.
Join Amnesty International today at lunch for this banner-making event.
