For those of you who do not hear the announcements where you are during second period, or if you would like to read them each day, you can find them in the Daily Bulletin section of Powerschool.

Fall Semester Final Exams Schedule
Final exams begin on Wednesday, January 25 and end on Friday, January 27. Students only go to two classes each day during finals week, and dismissal time is 12:40. Visit the BHS website to view the schedule; it's at the top of the page.

Morning Sports Report
Here's a recap of weekend sports action:
The girls varsity soccer team lost twice, but the girls JV and freshman soccer teams each won twice. The boys varsity soccer team won a match over the weekend, and the boys and girls varsity basketball teams beat their opponents. Finally, the boys JV basketball team lost its game by just a few points. Tonight the boys freshman soccer team travels to Lafayette for a match against Acalanes High School.

Jacket Newspaper's Black History Month Issue
The Jacket newspaper is publishing a Black History Month issue on February 10, and is now collecting submissions of poems, writing, and artwork from the BHS community that celebrate the African American experience. Please send all submissions to nataliebettendorf at students.berkeley.net<mailto:nataliebettendorf at students.berkeley.net> or drop them off in room G-108B. The hard deadline is January 28th.

College & Career Center Announcement
All students in grades 9-12 who have an interest in the U.S. Navy or Navy ROTC are invited to talk with Officer Li, a Navy recruiter from the Alameda Office, on Tuesday, January 10, during lunch in the CCC, room D-221.

REMINDER: NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16
All Berkeley Unified School District campuses and offices will be closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

PE Waivers
If you submitted the first part of the Fall PE Waiver in September, you must turn in the completed Fall 2016 PE Waiver (yellow copy) to the Attendance Office no later than Friday, January 13, 2016 at 4:00 pm. The waiver must be signed by the same coach who wrote your letter at the beginning of the Fall Semester. No exceptions to this deadline will be granted.

The Attendance Office will begin distributing Spring 2017 PE Waiver forms on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. The first portion of the waiver process is due back to the Attendance Office no later than Friday, February 3, 2017. No exceptions will be made for missed deadlines.
