Dear Parents and Students,

The Y-Scholars Program is currently accepting applications from incoming high school freshman, sophomores, and juniors for this entering year.

You can pick an and submit our application at the YMCA Teen Center front desk.

The Y-Scholars Program is a FREE after school program that works with first-generation college-bound and low income students who are looking for guidance and support to help them reach their academic and career goals. We have program counselors who are ready to help students with their academics, social support, and college pursuit. As well, tutors that are available to help in various school subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Algebra 2 or Calculus. In addition, the program offers college tours, social events, and scholarship opportunities.

The YMCA-PG&E Teen Center is located at 2111 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Berkeley, just across from Berkeley High.

Estimado estudiante y familiares,

El Programa de Y-Scholars, un programa que ofrece oportunidades académicas en el centro juvenil del YMCA-PG&E (justo al lado de la escuela Berkeley High) está aceptando aplicaciones para este año entrante.

El programa Y-Scholars es gratuito que se realiza por las tardes después de escuela. Apoyamos a estudiantes que buscan ayuda para ir a la universidad o asistencia en sus tareas académicas, ya que mucho son los primeros en su familia que están en rumbo a la universidad.

Una vez que el estudiante es un Y-Scholar, él o ella tendrá apoyo social y académico en todos sus 4 años de estudios de preparatoria (high school). Nuestro programa proveer una variedad de servicios gratuitos, incluyendo: n este momento estamos buscando a estudiantes que están por entrar al noveno grado que creen que la universidad es una opción en su futuro.

Si están interesados, por favor llene los formularios y mándelos por correo o en persona lo más pronto posible. Estamos localizados en 2111 Martin Luther King Jr. Way en Berkeley -entre "Center Street."
