The Day of Silence is this Friday, April 15.
The day of silence is a national event with the purpose of bringing attention to LGBTQ+ issues in schools. Students take a vow of silence to reflect the silencing effect of bullying and harassment. Allies are encouraged to take the vow so that they can begin to better understand this aspect of being LGBT+. Students can also participate by using their voice to talk about LGBTQ+ issues. The GSA will be holding a panel discussion 4th and 5th period to bring awareness and break the silence about these issues. Students can get notebooks Friday morning on the senior steps. And there will be a scream on the senior steps at the end of the day to break the silence.
