Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office. For those of you who
do not hear the announcements where you are during second period, or if you
would like to read them each day, you can find them in the Daily Bulletin
section of Powerschool.



*Berkeley High School Bulletin*

*BSU Step Dance & Double Dutch*

What is step? Stepping is a historically black percussive dance, in which
the whole body is used as an instrument to create complex rhythms and
sounds through a mixture of spoken word, footsteps, and hand-clapping.
Interested?
Join the Black Assembly, BHS' Step and Double Dutch on Tuesday’s 3:45 to
4:30 in the AFAM Dance studio.

Seniors, if you are taking Mr. Byndloss', Berkeley City College class,
Counseling 24 College Success, it starts today afterschool in room H202B.

*Teen Dating Violence*

February is Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month! One in
three teens in the US will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse
by someone as children. Stop by the Health Center for support and join us
on Monday, February 1st on the senior steps during lunch for some fun,
learning, and engaging activities.

*Talent Show*

Sign up to audition for Berkeley High's annual talent show. Come and show
off your skills: rapping, dancing, juggling, etc. Sign-up sheets are posted
outside the leadership office in the cafeteria. Talent show auditions will
begin February 1st.

*College & Career Center Announcements*

The Berkeley High School chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers
will meet on Thursday, January 28 during 5th period. For more details,
check in with Mr. Dwayne Byndloss in the Counseling Center.

Also on Thursday, January 28: Seniors and their parents and guardians are
invited to the Cash for College/FAFSA workshop from 6:00 until 8:00 in the
Library.

On Friday, January 29, during lunch, the Admissions Director from Columbia
College in Chicago will be in the CCC. Columbia College in Chicago is still
accepting applications for next year. Students in grade 9-11 are also
invited to the session to learn more about Columbia College.

*Open Gyms*

There will be Open Gym on Wednesday and Friday for Volleyball and
Badminton. Open Gyms take place in the Jacket Gym and are free. Anyone who
would like to play volleyball or badminton, boys and girls, may attend at
the times indicated. Volleyball: 4pm to 6pm and Badminton: 6pm to 8pm.

borrowing equipment and more.
