Following the Friday, September 18th, victory over Castlemont, the Oakland
Raiders chose Berkeley High’s varsity football coach Clarence Johnson (aka
“CJ”) as their High School “Coach of the Week”.



Coach CJ received the news on Tuesday, September 22, that he had been
chosen to receive the honor, and Monday afternoon two of the Raiders
players and two cheerleaders came to Berkeley High to honor Coach Johnston
and hand him a giant check.



The “Coach of the Week” program provides teams with financial assistance to
maintain their football programs. As this week’s recipient, Berkeley High
School was awarded a $1,000 donation to the school’s football program from
The Oakland Raiders and the NFL Foundation.
