Congratulations to AHA Sophomores!  All THREE places in the Bay Area Book
Festival's Young Writers Contest were won by AHA 10th graders.

 

Luke Wenger is the winner of the contest. He wrote on the topic of Dream
Career. Amber Lee took second place, also writing about Dream Career. Lauren
Baldock-Wood took third place, writing on the topic of Bad Advice. 

 

Additionally, here are details about the rewards for winning the contest:

1) Receive $100, $75, and $50 in cash at the award ceremony.

2) Read their work aloud at the BABF's Young Authors Writing Competition
Award Ceremony on Saturday, June 6th from 4-4:50PM at the Berkeley Public
Library. The ceremony will be hosted by a surprise special guest! 

3) Have their name, grade and school, along with a short sample of their
submission printed in the SF Chronicle Special Section set to run May 31st.
They will also will receive a copy at the award ceremony.
