Middle Tennessee's 2015 class will feature Berkeley's Delaney Taylor.
Berkeley High Coach Tony Wu congratulated Delaney on this accomplishment and
remarked that her skill as a setter was absolutely pivotal to the success of
the BHS Varsity team this last season.  

 

Delaney Taylor started playing volleyball in middle school. That experience
sparked her to go on to join several club teams in the coming years. She
started with Kalani, then Golden Bear followed by Red Rock, which finished
in the top 15 at Junior Nationals in the Open division. Now in her second
year playing on Vision 18 Gold who finished 1st in northern California last
year. This year, the team is 1st in northern California and trying to
qualify for the Open division at Junior Nationals. 

 

Delaney played all four years at Berkeley High School, three on varsity. She
was rookie of the year her sophomore year, all-league honorable mention her
junior year, co-captain and all-league first team her senior year. The
Berkeley High Volleyball team made it to NCS post season play every year
with the help of Delaney. In Delaney's senior year she played in 98 sets
with 729 assists and 7.4 assists per game.

 

Delaney's father, Eric Taylor, and mother, Diana Yovino-Young, are Berkeley
High Alumni. Diana also played BHS volleyball and went on to play in college
for California Berkeley. Delaney's brother, Morgan is a freshman at BHS.
