[BHS Etree] INCOMING FAMILIES: Math/Language Placement for New Students

Math Placement

Students who are interested in taking the test for Advanced Math 1 or Honors
Algebra 2 (if they are currently taking Geometry) need to come to the BHS
library at 3:00 p.m. on one of the following dates: This Tuesday, April 14
or next Monday, April 20.  The test will be approximately 1 hour.  Students
are welcome to bring their own pencils. Additional time for students who
receive accommodations will be provided. Please email documentation of the
accommodations needed to erinschweng at berkeley.net before April 10.  For
additional information please contact Nakia Baird nakiabaird at berkeley.net.

 

Honors Algebra 2: The placement test contains Algebra 1 and Geometry
materials. Students may use non-graphing calculators.

 

Advanced Math 1: Contains common core middle school math.

 

Please note: King, Longfellow and Willard families will take any math
placement tests at their school.

 

Language Placement

If your child would like to be in a language class above level 1, you will
need to take the language placement exam. This year the exam will be offered
on Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 am - noon. If you are unable to attend in
April, we will also offer the exam on Friday, August 21 from 10:00 am -
noon. The exam will be given on the second floor of the M building - located
off Milvia above Channing. Please email coryhenrickson at berkeley.net with
