**Sophomores:

ATTENTION ALL SOPHOMORES: The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)
will take place on *Tuesday, February 3 and Wednesday, February 4. *This
is a high school graduation requirement for all sophomores.*_Bring your
student ID and report to the following locations by 7:30.

BIHS: Jacket Gym
AMPS, AHA and CAS: should check-in with their English Teachers.

*College Career**Career Opportunities:*

1. Please visit

exploration. This site is updated daily by Ms. Rennie (Trimlett).
2. *College Career Center Closed Feb. 3 & 4. (Tues/Wed)* The CCC will be
closed on Tuesday, Feb.3 and Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 8:00-3:30 (including
lunch) for CAHSEE testing. Only students who are assigned to the CCC for
testing can come to the CCC during the school day. The CCC will reopen
on Tuesday and Wednesday for the Learning Center/after school tutoring
from 3:30-6:00 PM.

*Athletics*:
1.*Clearing of Athletic Packets:* If you want to try out for a spring
sport bring your completed athletic packet to the Athletic Director's
office in J207 (behind the bleachers, on the 2nd floor) to be cleared.
If you already brought in a packet this year, go by and get your 'gold
ticket' to go to tryouts. Packets are available at the front desk, at
the Athletic Director's office and online at the Berkeley High website
for you to download.*Clearing dates are lunch and after school this week
and next week.* Tryouts start on February 9. Spring Sports include
Badminton, Baseball, Crew, Diving, Golf (Boys), Lacrosse, Softball,
Swimming, Tennis (Boys), Track and Field, and Volleyball (Boys).

*Club**s:*
1.*Free the Children Run-a-thon - *The BHS Free the Children Club is
hosting a run-a-thon on Sunday, March 1st at the BHS track from 10 am to
12 pm. They are running to fund-raise for healthcare in Sierra Leone.
Join them to run for health! Pick up a pledge form at the front desk or
email rebeccamiller at students.berkeley.net

*Leadership*:
1.*STEM - *The MARC Scholars Program from UC Berkeley will be hosting
the “Intro to the STEM Fields” informative workshop Friday, January 30th
in the College Career Center. The goal of the workshop is to provide a
basic explanation of STEM as well as advice and resources on how to jump
start a career in the STEM fields as students enter college. STEM
includes all disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics. The workshop will last an entire period and is available
4th, 5th, and 6th period. All grades are welcome. If interested,
students should notify their teachers and RSVP with Mr. Villavicencio.
Include your student ID#and the period you wish to participate.

1. The Berkeley High Jacket newspaper is looking for a new layout editor
for the 2015-2016 school year. Contact Isabel Daniels at
