Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office and will be sent out
through the BHS E-tree twice a week. For those of you who do not hear the
announcements where you are during second period, or if you would like to
read them each day, you can find them in the Daily Bulletin section of
Powerschool.



*Berkeley High School Bulletin, Thursday September 18*



*ADMINISTRATION*


1. BART Tickets

Please pick up your BART tickets in room D224 at lunch time.


2. Independent Study Back to School Night

ISP Back to School Night will be on October 2nd from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.



*SENIORS*



1. The College and Career Center hosts college presentations from college
representatives from all over the country. If you are interested in
attending a presentation, have your teacher sign your College Advisor Pass
ahead of time.



*Thursday, 9/18*

1st period - Linfield College

3rd period - University of Washington

4th period - Whitman College



*Friday, 9/19*

3rd period - Middlebury College

4th period - Scripps College


2. SAT Prep Courses

People's Test Preparation Service will be offering FREE SAT prep courses
for BHS Seniors. Seniors must register this week in the College Career
Center during drop-in hours; before school, during lunch, or after school.
Limited space is available. Classes will be held on Monday & Wednesday from
3:40-5:30 pm starting Monday, September 22nd. Students must be able to
attend a minimum of 80% of all sessions to participate. .



*CLUBS*



1. *Join the VIVA BRASIL club!*

Meetings will be held in C213 on Thursdays at lunch! Snacks will be
provided for the first meeting. You do not need to be Brazilian to join.
Learn about a whole new culture and raise money for kids in Brasil.

2. *Join the Girl Up Club*

Do you want to make a change? Join the Girl Up Club to help fund-raise for
girls in other countries to get an education. The first meeting is on
Monday, September 22nd in room C325. Snacks will be provided.

3. *Berkeley Jubilee Project*

Want to make or be in a short film? Come to the Berkeley Jubilee project
and share your creativity. You could even showcase your film in the
TeenTech GLOBAL Student Film Festival in October! Our first meeting is
during lunch today in room C230, so come and find out more.

4. *Homeless Support Club*

The Homeless Support Club will be having its first meeting today at lunch
in room C317. If you are interested in helping the homeless please come to
our meeting today. Snacks will be provided during meeting.

5. *Chicano Latino*

Juniors and Seniors! Chicano Latino will be holding their first meeting
this Friday during lunch in G216. Any upperclassmen interested in
participating in the Chicano Latino graduation should attend.



*OTHER*
  1. Spring Musical

Calling all choreographers! The spring musical needs creative dances!
Choreographer auditions are on the 18th after school in Mr. Winer's room,
A203. There are also two info sessions on the 11th and the 16th at lunch in
A103. You can also email carsonearnest at students.berkeley.net or
myahoverstreet at students.berkeley.net if you have any questions.
  2. The Beach Can't Take Anymore

Join the 30th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September
20th from 9AM until noon. The Cleanup is expected to draw tens of thousands
of volunteers who, at more than 850 locations throughout California, will
help remove tons of trash that have accumulated on California's beaches and
inland shorelines. Check your Berkeley.net email to find the link for more
information.
