The PSAT will be administered to BHS Juniors and Sophomores on Saturday,
Oct. 18. A practice for the SAT, the PSAT gives students feedback on
their strengths and weaknesses in areas of critical reading,
mathematical reasoning and writing skills that are important for success
in college.Juniors who score well may be eligible for National Merit
Scholarships as well as other scholarship and recognition programs such
as the National Hispanic Recognition Program.
The test fee is $25. Juniors who are eligible for free and reduced lunch
pay $5. There is no fee reduction available for sophomores. We are
working to provide registration online as well as on-campus.
Registration will begin for juniors on Monday, Sept. 22. Sophomores may
register beginning Sept. 29. All registration will end at midnight on
Oct. 3.
Students who have had accommodations approved by College Board will
receive those accommodations. If accommodations have not yet been
applied for, it is unlikely that a decision will be made by the Oct. 18
test date. The process typically takes seven weeks. More specific
registration instructions will be sent later this week.
