Hey Berkeley High School Sport fans!

 

This is the final week for Athletic Packet Clearing in preparation for
Spring Sports tryouts (starting February 10).  All students wishing to
tryout must bring a completed Athletic Packet to the Athletic Director's
office at lunch or after school 3:30-5:30 1/28-2/7.  Packets available
outside the Athletic Director's office or the Front Desk.  Athletes will NOT
be allowed to tryout without a cleared packet in the AD office.

A GAME. A CAUSE. A REUNION.

 

GAME: BHS vs San Leandro

Boys Varsity Basketball Team. Friday February 7, 2014 (Game time 7 pm),

Berkeley High School. 1980 Allston Way, Berkeley CA 94704.

 

CAUSE:

Announcing the Establishment of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Program for the BHS Campus and the creation of the Greg Brown Memorial Fund
for Student-Athlete Health and Safety.

 

REUNION:

Members of the BHS Class of 1974 will be present at a special halftime

ceremony to honor the memory of a fellow classmate, Greg Brown, who

collapsed and was unable to be resuscitated during a school basketball game.


 

The Greg Brown Memorial Fund will be used to maintain the AED program
(CPR/AED training, replacement supplies, etc) as well as fund other BHS
programs that enhance student-athlete health and safety.

 

Seven AEDs will be installed on the Berkeley High School campus for use
during the school day from 7:30 am- 5:00 pm, and some of these as well as
additional portable AEDs will be available during evening and weekend sports
practices and competitions, and Community Theatre events.
