ADMINISTRATION

 

1. Fall PE Waivers - Turn in your completed PE Waiver (yellow copy) to the
Attendance Office no later than Friday January 17, 2014 at 4:00 pm. The
waiver must be signed by the same coach who wrote your letter in early fall.
No exceptions to this deadline will be granted. Spring PE Waivers - The
Attendance Office will begin distributing Spring PE Waiver forms on Tuesday
January 21, 2014. The first portion of the waiver process is due back to the
attendance office no later than February 7, 2014. NO exceptions will be made
for missed deadlines. If you have any questions please email
pewaivers at berkeley.net or stop by the Attendance Office.

 

2. There will be one more Saturday School on January 18th. Please go the
Attendance Office if you are interested in attending.

 

3. PSAT results are ready for distribution to students who took the test in
October. You can pick them up in the College Career Center before school, at
lunch, and after school. During finals week from 8:00 to 8:25 and after
finals from 12:40 to 1:40. Remember to bring your ID. You can only pick up
your own results.

 

EVENTS

 

1. Red Cross Blood Drive 1/29

The Red Cross will be here next Wednesday, January 29. We have a goal to
reach over 50 useable donations, so stop by the leadership office to sign
up. Updated eligibility requirements are available at
www.redcrossblood.org/donating-blood/eligibility-requirements. 16 year olds
can donate with prior parent approval. The form is in available in the
leadership office. 

 

2. Winter Ball 2014 1/31 7pm - 11pm

Tickets are on sale now for $15 in the Leadership office. Students are
encouraged to bring a friend and dress formally to celebrate the new year in
style. Guest passes are available in the leadership office and need to be
turned in when purchasing a ticket before Jan. 24. 

 

3. Cap & Gown Orders

Seniors please consider purchasing your graduation gear now. Prices will
increase in the next month. Visit www.graduationorder.com and enter the code
bhs950. Students only need a cap and gown to walk on stage at the Greek
Theater, but are welcome to purchase other products at a great price.
Achievers will be back on campus on April 24 and 25 to distribute orders.

 

4. RISE Crab Feed - Save the Date for the RISE Crab Feed on February 13th.
You can buy tickets in room G111.

 

CLUBS

 

1. Gay Straight Alliance - Go check out a bake sale this Friday at lunch in
the C Gallery and support equality for all. The GSA meets on Wednesday at
lunch in room H102A.

 

2. Development Group Grants - Did you know that you can apply for grant
money for your BHS club or activity? The Berkeley High School Development
Group accepts grant applications from student groups. The deadline to apply
is the 15th of each month. This month, the deadline has been extended to
Friday, January 17th. The Grant Application form is quick and simple, and
you can find it on www.bhsdg.org on the Grants/Forms page. Get money for
your club or activity -- apply today!
