Dear Parents and Community Members,

Just in time for the holidays, here's some cheerful news...

Our attendance continues to improve.  This month we hit *94.5%* -- a 
milestone for BHS.  In previous Decembers we hadn't been able to reach 
out of the cellar of 92% - 93%.  A colorful chart with this (and other) 
data is attached.

There's still much more to do, of course.  BHS will continue to focus 
efforts on reducing the number of unexcused absences.  The time has also 
come to begin tackling the issue of -- gulp -- students with chronic 
tardies.  Expect more news on this when we return in 2014.

In the meantime, best wishes to you and your loved ones for the holidays.
