Dear Parents,

Now that we are in the second quarter, the BHS Attendance Office would like
to remind you that students with more than 30 unexcused period absences will
...

*	not be allowed to receive a work permit,
*	not be allowed to represent BHS in school athletics events, and
*	not be allowed to attend the prom April 19th.

Every three tardies will count as one unexcused absence. The count will
accumulate all year.

Students do have the option to clear some of their unexcused absences to
become re-eligible for work permits, athletic events, and the prom.
Students can clear six unexcused periods by attending one session of
Saturday school or by attending tutoring for three hours in the College
Career Center.

You will only be allowed to clear absences for the previous calendar month.
For example, if you attend tutoring in December, you would only clear six
period absences from November - at that point you would no longer be able to
clear September or October absences.

To attend Saturday school, sign up in advance in the attendance office.
Upcoming Saturday School sessions will be held November 9 and 23; December
14; January 11; February 8 and 22; March 8 and 22; April 12 and 26.

To clear absences through tutoring, sign up with Wyn Skeels in the College
Career Center, Monday through Thursdays after school.
